Let's Talk Trading (tm) with Ken Roberts
from December 9, 2003

Return to archives page

As we begin this evening’s session, let me state the reason I conduct these monthly chats: to provide you the opportunity to ask questions and pick the brain of a successful, long-time, real-money trader. It’s not the highest and best use of our limited time here together for me to define basic terms and explain introductory principles taught in your Course materials. That’s what my Course Counselors are here for... Now is the time for you to use me to help you apply the basics you’re learning and to prepare you for what to expect once you’re out in the market itself (either paper trading or with real money). And if we have some fun along those lines, so much better. Alright... I’ve got a Cuban Romeo & Julietta Churchill fired up, here’s our plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, the coffee’s poured, so let’s talk commodities! NOTE!!! When commenting on one of my Courses, please identify WHICH ONE. Also, when relating trading experiences and/or results, please give details: Futures contracts, options, options AND futures, etc. This helps others follow along and learn from your experience too.

specialmom asks:
Ahoy, Mr. Roberts! The silver target of 566 was reached today. Sell or hold for a bigger move? I'm holding a July 650 call. Thanks for all you do!!!

at 6:11:38 PM
Hello, specialmom, and congratulations! If one have one option only, I'd liquidate now since your planned target was hit. If you have more than one, I'd liquidate half or more and hang on with the other(s) for any additional move. (Long-Term, TOVI thinks silver's going higher still . . . .) Thanks!
Profits asks:
Hi Ken, Still waiting for TOVI monthly subscription. Is that still projected for the end of 2003? Thanks for all your help. Happy Holidays!

at 6:13:02 PM
I surely don't like sounding like DirecTV (which keeps extending their local-channel deadline), but yes, monthly billing should be up and running by the end of this month. Thanks!
drsmith asks:
What's your take on Bellies (feb)

at 6:15:57 PM
I'd be watching for a 50% Retracement (down) on the Weekly and Monthly charts. The front-month daily is in a kind of sideways channel, so you could take your cue from a breakout of that channel. (TOVI says Bellies' LongTerm outlook is DOWN and its ShortTerm trend is UP moderately. So this could be a clue to some quick, short-term trading. Thanks.
John the Methodist asks:
Howdy Ken, Just an update on the system that I described in the TOVI chat. I’ve made 23 trades using two contracts each and banked $26,300 in profits and have open gains of $41,700. The 23 trades break down as follows: Seven trades are closed - 3 lost $ and 4 gained for a net profit of $8,400. Nine trades reached my 1st goal (where I liquidate one contract & raise the stop on the other to the entry price) for profits of $17,800 and open gains of $43,500. The remaining seven trades have yet to reach the first goal and have an open loss of $1,700. This is phenomenal! Ken, you DA MAN! Grace & Peace, John

at 6:17:27 PM
Thanks John! You sound like a one-man TOVI research laboratory. Great goin'!
Big Fat Geek Waiting asks:
Regina, Sk. CANADA Ken, recently in Jan Soybeans I was setting up a paper trade to go short below 725. Then number 2 point was at 738, and I usually place my entry a few cents below that. I didn't this time as I identified some resistance in the 730-740 area, and wanted to make sure that it would break through. Does this seem like a reasonable strategy (it appears to have kept me out of a market currently going in the "wrong" direction)?

at 6:18:44 PM
Sounds like this planning worked for you, BFGW, and that's all that matters! Good goin'!
ready2win asks:
Hi Ken! I'm a recent GAB member and just started using TOVI and US Charts on line....they are great! When I went on TOVI and went to Long Term Rankings where Silver was green...I then went to the Option Search I saw a May option with a 800 strike price. The current price was 532....When I look at the Chart and do the 50% line, this would leave me to believe that Silver would come down, but TOVI says otherwise, unless I am not reading TOVI or the Charts correctly. Am I seeing this right and this is a good example of how TOVI can help our choices or am I way off base? I look forward to learn by your response. Thanks for everything.

at 6:22:22 PM
You looked at TOVI's LongTerm rankings, ready2win, which says Silver's headed UP, UP, UP! Take a look at your Silver Monthly and Weekly charts and you'll see why. Looking at your front-month Silver chart, there could be a short-term 50% retracement down, but in the big scheme of things, that's just a pimple. Good question. Thanks!
Ace asks:
Ken, I've just been experimenting with trading e-minis.. because I can't afford real futures contracts. How can we avoid being wiped out with daily fluctuations? Do you recommend e-minis? Cheers mate

at 6:23:43 PM
OPTIONS, Ace, OPTIONS! That's how you avoid being wiped out with daily fluctuations. Take a look at TOVI (www.tovitour.com). Thanks.
TorontoJoe asks:
Hi Ken. In the video I got a few years back - "Get Going", you mentioned the OPIP is the greatest method to make money. Why is it never mentioned here?

at 6:25:00 PM
Check these Chat Archives, TorontoJoe, and you'll find lots of references to my OPIP. Since then, however, TOVI was born . . . .
beth@nm asks:
Hi everyone and Happy Holidays!! I am asking Santa for a new Ken Roberts Course for Xmas. I have only TWMPMM 1. What would be the next best course to ask for? Thanks Ken for everything you do. I love these chats.

at 6:26:58 PM
Thank you, and Merry Christmas, beth@nm! Call a Course Counselor for Christmas and ask him or her about TOVI and GAB. Thanks for logging on and joining us this evening.
iman asks:
Is it difficult to liquidate options

at 6:28:23 PM
Millions upon millions are bought and sold every day, iman, in a matter of SECONDS. I'm sure a few take longer than that, but it's certainly not the norm. Thanks.
pmreesew asks:
ken,if you use tovi to enter a market on a futures contract when it is in the green and just went from moderate to strong. how long would you stay in that contract if after lets say 5 days it went back to moderate , but still in the green. when i am paper trading this scenario on tovi i usually am not successful. love tovi and keep up the good work.thanks

at 6:31:46 PM
Since you're paper trading, try these two variations, pmreesew: 1) Don't liquidate unless the ShortTerm TOVI rankings drop back to NEUTRAL from STRONG, and 2) As long as the LongTerm light stays GREEN, stay in. I'm experimenting with these very same strategies and so far it's working great. I love TOVI too!
Jeffg asks:
Ken I have started paper trading again after being out of the markets for 6 years. Your book A Rich Mans Secret changed my life. I bought a business 5 years ago and now am in a postion to start trading again. Just want to say Thanks!

at 6:32:26 PM
Thank YOU, Jeffg (you did it)! Great going.
reapingtherewards asks:
Grants Pass, Oregon Ken, how can I thank you? I needed a place to live and you invited me to Grants Pass, I was discouraged and thought things were impossible and you encouraged spirituality and with patience I paper traded, opened an account, held it for a year and took my first profit in silver today when it hit its 50% level. I liquidated one Mar Silver 600 call today for a $520 profit after commissions which was hard because I believe silver is on its way but I bought two Sept Euro FX puts with my profits which put me in a better position and I realized that that was how my business would grow. It took all the tools you've taught me over the years Ken, to get where I am today but I can tell you that you teach a solid formula for success in the World's Perfect Business. You are true to your word Ken as well as generous and selfless and for that I have the deepest and strongest admiration and respect for you. Doug Brown

at 6:34:24 PM
You're very kind, Doug. Thanks for sharing your experiences. You made my week!
iman asks:
What's TOVI?

at 6:35:08 PM
I'll take you on a personal tour and explain it all, iman. Log on to www.tovitour.com and I'll meet you there!
bob pitts asks:
i imagine you have been called many things, both good and bad. in your own words who is ken roberts?

at 6:38:10 PM
That is a deep question, bob, and I thank you for asking. (And ultimately, that has to be what life on Earth is all about: The Search for Self)
EricInJapan, Himeji Japan asks:
I just subscribed to TOVI last night before going to bed. This morning (I'm in Japan, it's about 11:00 a.m.) my account is already activated just as Sandi promised. I'm looking forward to all TOVI has to offer.

at 6:39:49 PM
Good morning, Eric! You'll love TOVI too!
milt asks:
what is the best oppontunity now

at 6:40:16 PM
You're doing it, milt: This chat!
BRUCE asks:
Hi Ken , whats up with Eurodollars? I've been buying puts for over a year now do you think this market is going to change? I plan to stick with it and keep buying further out. Thanks for you help, Bruce in Tampa. Happy Holidays

at 6:42:11 PM
What's up with Eurodollars, you ask? Eurodollars --- they're at all-time highs! Yes, they absolutely will change, but no one can say exactly when. (TOVI says LongTerm, Eurodollars' bias is DOWN and says to give it at least 10 months to decline.) Thanks.
Andy asks:
Evening Ken & Fellow Traders, I'm really looking forward to subscribing to TOVI at the first of the new year! I'm wondering what TOVI says about the interest rate markets (euroyen & eurodollar). At this time, I'm still short both markets (futures for the euroyen and puts for the eurodollar). What's your opinion of these markets, are you still bearish?

at 6:44:08 PM
Absolutely, Andy. See previous response for Eurodollar commentary and as far as the Euroyen is concerned, TOVI says ShortTerm, it's in a moderate uptrend and LongTerm it's bias is DOWN and we should give it at least 10 months to decline. So it sounds to me like you're doing exactly the right thing. Thanks.
pmreesew asks:
ken, any chance that tovi and us charts could be a package deal.i have both but it would be nice just to make one payment a year and have both services. thanks

at 6:44:45 PM
As I seem to be saying a lot lately, it's in the works. Thanks!
StanG asks:
Is this the GAB chat that I was invited to? I'm not sure since the email was erased. I'm still fairly new to this! I find your information fascinating. I have been studying quite a bit.

at 6:45:55 PM
Yes, StanG, you're in exactly the right place. Read on! (And when tonight's Chat is over, go to www.tovitour.com for even more fun and excitement!)
Eric in Fort Worth asks:
Was the system John The Methodist used to make his money birthed from TOVI?

at 6:46:35 PM
Yes, Eric, those "Tovi toddlers" too!
dolphins asks:
Cotton gapped around 62 to 68 on the way up. It has come back down but turned around before filling the gap. Now it is on the way down again. I have 5 March PUTS with a strike of 63. Even thought harvest should be over around now, do you think the China question will stop it from filling the gap?

at 6:47:26 PM
What?! Did you slip the "F" word in there (fundamentals)?
TennisPlayer asks:
Ken I'm holding 15 July 56 - 53 puts on Cotton it seems to be going up and down this is my largest position to date. What is your read on cotton ?

at 6:49:11 PM
I see Cotton's working on Weekly and Monthly 50% Retracements DOWN, so I agree with you. TOVI says ShortTerm Cotton is in a moderate downtrend too. So everybody's happy. Thanks.
Jeff asks:
Ken, Newbie here, how do i get a access code to take the free TOVI Tour? Thanks, Jeff in NJ

at 6:49:57 PM
Go to www.tovitour.com and enter "krcchat". Go forth and log on, Jeff!
kelly1269 asks:
Ken, what is your feel for coffee? I'm in at 62.10/March, 2004.

at 6:50:54 PM
I'm long, long, long coffee, kelly1269! TOVI gives Coffee a green light LongTerm and says Coffee's in a moderate uptrend ShortTerm. Drink up!
Anaitis asks:
What does TOVI mean?

at 6:51:16 PM
The Option Value Indicator, Anaitis.
iman asks:
Should I be concerned about option trades that have small open interest size?

at 6:53:08 PM
I don't worry about that, iman. As long as I get an option I want, that's all that matters (even if it's the ONLY ONE in that market). It's kind of like having the only insurance policy of its kind written by Prudential Life Insurance Company.
BillC florida asks:
how would you compare profits in options trading to futures contracts or multiples of? i still hear that 80% of options expire worthless, and ive been there. im working with tovi now but curious. . .

at 6:54:58 PM
Profits in options can be even greater than profits in futures contracts because volatility can boost an option's value way over and above any intrinsic value! Keep working with TOVI and by next month's Chat I think you'll have some great paper trading results to share with us all here. Thanks.
Horsie Murdoch asks:
Hi Ken. Great to see you hosting these chats. I am an old course member from the 90s. Got distracted and kind of forgot about futures. My question is, after being out of the game for so long. Should I toss Twmpmm I and II down the crapper and order GAB and TOVI to get up to date? I'm guessing the older material is superceded. Thanks.

at 6:56:20 PM
Wait, don't flush, Horsie! All that background/basic/foundational material is valuable. Take the TOVI Tour tonight and see . . . .
Stan asks:
Hey Ken, Love the chat sessions. Our big Christmas tree at our state capital, Okla.City, came all the way from Grants Pass, Oregon! I'm looking at a 960 Call on the US Dollar and feel I will should budget for 3 rounds....what do you think? Have a Merry Christmas!!!

at 6:58:59 PM
Thanks, Stan, and Merry Christmas to you too. (Do you love that Christmas tree from Grants Pass. It's a beauty. I know, because I cut it down myself!) LongTerm, TOVI gives the U.S. Dollar an UP bias and recommends giving it at least 36 months to rally. Sounds like three rounds is a good plan. Ho Ho Ho!
Michigan Trader asks:
Hi Ken, love these chats. We've been waiting patiently for a top formation in Live Cattle. Are cattle always this erratic (limit-up/limit-down) day after day? Thanks.

at 7:01:38 PM
That's called volatility, Michigan Trader, and ANY market can get this way when it's really moving (even Oats!). LongTerm, TOVI gives Live Cattle a DOWN bias, but recommends at least 33 months. Thanks.
kelly1269 asks:
Ken, I am looking for a really good cigar. Any recommendations?

at 7:03:11 PM
Sure, kelly1269. There are thousands to choose from. Go to your local tobacconist and ask for a list of Cigar Aficionado's recent Cigar Ratings. Wait, let me see what TOVI says about cigars . . . .
Anaitis asks:
Hello Ken, What is your take on MAR Sugar? Big rally going forward?

at 7:09:56 PM
TOVI loves Sugar to the upside both Short- and LongTerm. (And I concur!)
TennisPlayer asks:
Ken I have each of your packages over the past few years and they have helped. Will TOVI enhance what I've learned with my trades ?

at 7:10:47 PM
Absolutely.
Ztrain asks:
What's the access code for the Tovi Tour?

at 7:11:30 PM
(Is there an echo on this Chatline?) "krcchat" will get you in the door. Tell 'em Ken sent you . . . .
Howard - Austin Texas asks:
Ken, Wanted to let you know that I took your advice and looked at why I was successful in paper trading (up 35K right now) and not so successful in real trading. All of my paper trades are positions that I took at extreme markets coupled with a fundamental knowledge of what is driving the market and using your process on planning the trade and when to get in and out (chart formations and 50% retracement). This works for me real well when I leave the trade alone and keep the emotions out. I just need to keep building my account up so I can make these trades in real life, have patience and not listen to my short term broker! I am a firm believer in the long term trade approach you have shown us. I have doubled my March call n British Pound investment and breaking even in March corn. This is truly a great business.

at 7:13:30 PM
Fantastic, Howard. Funny how those emotions always seem to be at the scene of financial missteps, isn't it . . . . (Love that "short term broker" phrase!)
moose asks:
Hello Ken and Gang! Ken, what does an individual investor have to do legally to turn trading into his professional job, as in just his own personnal accounts. Also concerning Tax laws and what not? Thank you Ken, and Gang for the tremendous service you provide to all of us wanting to "Get It",... I get it!!!

at 7:15:00 PM
Call a Course Counselor for a good Commodity Tax Guide text we recommend. Also ask your tax expert about "trader" status versus "investor" status. There's a difference. Thanks!
nicole asks:
hi ken my husband and i have been fans of yours since 97. we traded for a short while then lost our confidence after taking a few small losses anyway we are back at it thanks to you after reading some funny-mentals in the paper we are looking at gold they say it will go up to 1000. an ounce soon. what are your thoughts?

at 7:17:11 PM
Nicole, my Mom must have seen the same funny-mental you did, because she called me just yesterday and asked if she should hang on to her gold stocks! We're going to prove that Bob Brinker wrong after all! TOVI on Gold: LongTerm up bias (yellow light); ShortTerm in an extreme UPtrend. Thanks!
Janice asks:
Ken, I'm still holding my March call options for Orange Juice. Yesterday I started paper trading two other options. I've got a call for CME Milk, and a Put for Butter. Do you ever trade these options? And how have these option done for you? If you've traded them. Just curious because these are two options I've never heard you mention. Thanks. Janice

at 7:22:38 PM
I've never mentioned them, Janice, because I didn't know they existed! Good for you. Maybe you've stumbled onto something here . . . Sure hope your don't get creamed out trading Milk and Butter, though. That would sour you on trading. Maybe you can whip 'em, though! Hope you churn out the profits! And don't forget to spread the wealth. Hope this isn't too cheesy. I think you've got it down pat. So I'm gonna moooooove on to the next question. (Boy, we sure milked that one for all it's worth . . . .)
Bernie asks:
Heating Oil spiked up yesterday and opended down this morning but remains in an up trend. Will it continue up?

at 7:24:10 PM
I don't have a crystal ball, Bernie, but I do have TOVI. Let's see . . . TOVI says LongTerm bias is DOWN in Heating Oil (give it at least 26 months) and ShortTerm is in a moderate UPtrend, so yes, it should continue up for awhile anyway. Thanks!
fathog asks:
Greetings to all. Ken, when in your trading did you start trading like the cattleman in your video? 2003 started out as a banner year for my trading. By the end of 3Q I was up 120K on cashed out trades. I was trading 50% of my account maint/margin, with no stops. Then I tried to outlast cattle, euro ec and ed, been in coffee for 3yrs...... I learn the truth about the markets behaving irrationally longer than we can remain solvent !!! I gave it all back plus a bunch more......looking for some encouragement I guess...I'm down now but not out. I plan on trading my way back...thanks for listening.

at 7:26:12 PM
Great lessons, fathog, and they WILL pay off if you stick it out. You have a great attitude, and that's a winning attitude. Good for you. Remember: Success is NOT common. Now regroup, take your time, (and take the TOVI Tour). Many thanks for your input this evening.
Horsie Murdoch asks:
Ken. I'm a course member from the old days. Isn't "Tovi" saying this and "Tovi" saying that like fundamental trading? Or is it all technical based? Its just that I rate elliot wave and all those other indicators as rubbish, so getting to 'trust' tovi is new for me.

at 7:27:53 PM
Learn to trust TOVI. I have. And, yes, TOVI's completely technically based (like having a little computer nerd as a pet)!
Anaitis asks:
HEllo Ken, OJ is close to a 20 year low.... Building an accumulation base as it seems ....My assumption is to be long... What do you think? Thanks a lot. :-)

at 7:30:17 PM
Yep, look at OJ's Weekly and Monthly charts. I want to be long. TOVI says ShortTerm, OJ is in a strong downtrend, however, but LongTerm it's bias is UP (and could take at least 33 months to rally).
millionbucks asks:
Ken, Euro Currency: I purchsed put options for March 2004 1.16 strike price, just above the 50%, does this sound reasonable based on TOVI talk? Recent member to TOVI..

at 7:33:09 PM
Hello millionbucks! Yes, look at that Weekly and Monthly chart. (LongTerm, TOVI likes EuroCurrency DOWN --- give it at least 20 months to move --- and ShortTerm it's in a strong UPtrend, so the turnaround could take awhile). Thanks for joining in tonight.
Adrian asks:
Ken: You mentioned A Rich Man's Secret. Is the book available still or is it only in course form now? I'm paper trading and following along with everybody. This business is FUN!

at 7:34:21 PM
Right on, Adrian! Yes, my novel is still available. Thanks for asking.
HappyCamperNY asks:
Hi Ken - a question regarding markets like Gold or Copper, for example, where prices just break through an important point of resistance. If you're trading with options, is it wiser to wait/hope for a retracement down to get on board or would you look at the chart and think it's still good to jump in (go long) seeing that there's big potential on the monthly chart? Also, do you use TOVI's indicators to determine whether you are "chasing the market" or getting in at the right "break through resistance"? Thanks for everything!

at 7:36:39 PM
You're speaking of Long Term versus Short Term trading, HappyCamperNY. TOVI helps you with both and follows the trend (rather than predicting future direction). By the way, most successful fund traders are trend traders. That's why the adage "The trend is your friend." My experience is that TOVI tells me a market's trend long before the public realizes it's a trend. Thanks!
Tom N asks:
Hi Ken, Im a small time trader who has done everything wrong that can be done wrong. I have let my emotions rule me in the past but no more, thanks to a rich mans secret and Vernon Howard books. Thank you very much for turning me on to those. I have July corn calls, I bought them when tovi went to strong from moderate was wandering if you are long corn also? thanks for all you do to give us hope!!!

at 7:38:43 PM
Yes, I'm long Corn too, Tom N. Thanks for the kind words. I love that "moderate-to-strong" signal too! Thanks.
Stretch asks:
Hi Ken and crew, Stretch from Swan Hills Alberta, Canada. You have often stated how much you detest computers Ken, but we all know you sit down once a month and chat with all of us, by computer and thanks for that, but now with tovi up and running and availabe via computer/internet and all the great news tovi brings, what are your views on computers now. The guys at work say the best thing for a computer is a large hammer. Of course I disagree with them. Merry Christmas to all and the best for the New Year.

at 7:41:17 PM
Thanks, Stretch, and Merry Christmas to you and yours too! Yes, computers are a mixed blessing. Didn't think I'd be saying this, but I am now. As I confessed on last Tuesday evening's TOVI Chat, my wife Krista threatens to hold an "Internet intervention" to get me off that xx?!%#&! computer! Oh well . . . .
jmtahoe asks:
Long soybeans from 525 Cashed in a few time and got back in on pull backs. Whats TOVI's input?

at 7:43:26 PM
LongTerm = UP bias with yellow triangle. ShortTerm = extreme UPtrend (and has been in an uptrend for 81 days!). Thanks.
EricInJapan, Himeji Japan asks:
By the way, I said last month I was looking at interest rates on CDs etc., and I laughed... I'm still laughing because my March 04 Corn calls are up over 100% but I'm still holding for my target. Just checked TOVI and I like the green light on the long term ranking.

at 7:43:58 PM
Yes, quite a soothing nightlight, isn't it? Thanks!
Sher bear asks:
Hey ya old cowboy Thanks fer all the help you have given me here in Ontario--I just luv it all, from the courses, to the charts, to tovi! I know my family thinks i've been bucked off one too many times --oh well! You and your family have a great Christmas -- Thanks again!

at 7:45:32 PM
Thank YOU, Sher bear. Yes, I've been accused of being kicked in the head by a horse, too, but try this: A prophet goes without honor in his own home!
Sharkman asks:
Ken, I guess I missed class the day you tought about GAB - What is it?

at 7:46:26 PM
The Greatest American Business Course (re: options). Call a Course Counselor tomorrow, Sharkman. Thanks.
ROY BEACH asks:
Ken , We met almost 10 years ago out back of the Red Lion ? in Santa Barbara. I am the guy from VA. since then Ive had a lot of ups and downs ( my own fault ) outside my family the 3 biggest things to keep me going have been A RICH MANS SECRET TWMPMM and the statement you wrote in my book KEEP ON KEEPING ON THANK YOU I AM MAKING IT THANK YOU I have wanted to tell you that a bunch !!! of times now to my question how to go about finding a broker that is not a commision generator , a broker that will allow you to accept there advise , think about it , make up your own mind , not push the house recomendations down your throat etc etc as you can tell I have had some rather bad experiences I could not afford THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING

at 7:48:49 PM
Thank YOU, Roy Beach. Good to hear from you. You're way ahead of the game because you know the nature of brokers. Just keep that in mind as you interview SEVERAL and then make your decision. And don't be afraid to close your account and leave if necessary. This puts you in the driver's seat. You're doing great!
mrosner asks:
mrosner in Hollywood Florida, Ken, when are you going to be featured in Cigar Aficionado?

at 7:49:35 PM
Not that I know of, mrosner. (Do you know someting I don't?)
BillC florida asks:
Do you offer 1 on 1 hands on training??

at 7:51:42 PM
Yes, BillC. Call a Course Counselor and ask about our "A Day with a Course Counselor." (By the way, "Hello!" to Robert who's in Grants Pass after completing A Day with a Course Counselor just today.)
Fl trader asks:
Hi Ken, Gotta love these chats. I've been buying OJ call options for months. This bottom has been hit four times looking at the monthly. I'm wondering when this thing is going to move back up? I need to get TOVI to get the bias. DRINK YOUR JUICE EVERYONE!

at 7:53:44 PM
Great advice, Fl trader! That's one of the many benefits of TOVI: It can keep you from entering a market too early because those "false bottoms" don't seem to fool TOVI! LongTerm, TOVI gives OJ a red light with an UP bias, and recommends at least 33 months for takeoff! Thanks!
Jeffg asks:
Ken What type of charting services should a new trader get? Paper, Online, TOVI or any certain combination of the three?

at 7:54:47 PM
Give me U.S. Charts ON-LINE and TOVI. That's all I need!
longwood lou asks:
on september 29, 1998 I took profits on 2 gold options of 1359 and 2950, {after taking twmpm 1} that bumped my account up to about 5000 starting with 1500 and payint @170 for each option. Funny thing, my broker started calling me regularly with "great trades" and told me the only way was to nickel and dime the mnarket with day trades. That worked out fine for a while then I was risking $500 to make $300 in the bone market and e-mini S&P. needless to say I had to make many good trades to make up for 1 loss. I lost it all! Now I am back, but where do I go from here?

at 7:55:59 PM
Glad you're back, longwood lou (and much the wiser). Try www.tovitour.com!
denise asks:
Hi Ken. Thanks for taking the time to do these chats. I recently purchased TOVI and am papertrading to get used to the system. In less 3 weeks I am up $8000. I am now going to trade with real $. Hopefully I will have the same results. TOVI is awesome! Thank you so much.

at 7:56:33 PM
That's it Denise. Learn to trust TOVI!
ATL Trader asks:
Hey Ken Atlanta Trader here, I keep seeing reference to this TOVI thing. Could you pleas explain what that is and how do I get a subscription. Been trading for 7 years now with you and this is how I make my living. Thanks for everything.

at 7:57:47 PM
You're gonna love TOVI too, ATL Trader. The best thing to do is log on to www.tovitour.com.
Go GAB! asks:
Hi Ken! I've been paper trading with TOVI the past week. What's REALLY nice is I can go back to where the trend changed from moderate to strong, and pretend I bought an option that TOVI chose at that time. By doing that with all the markets that are in that trend short-term, I see that I would have made about $47,000 in the past three months!!! I'm about to change my name to "Go TOVI!" Thanks, Ken. TOVI looks to be the answer! Now, if I can only salvage some of the trades I've been in the past four months...................

Sorry, "Go TOVI"'s already taken, Go GAB! But glad you found it too. Thanks!
kens best friend asks:
ken thanks for the cigars! what does tovi say about british pound? I belive it is peaking and thinking shorting the options along with puts. would that be pounding the pound?

at 8:01:39 PM
You're welcome! TOVI says B.P. LongTerm = Down bias with a red diamond. ShortTerm = Strong UPtrend. Now pound out those profits!
MIKARTE asks:
HI KEN. DO YOU THINK THAT WHEN LOOKING FOR A MARKET IN TOVI LONG AND SHORT TERM RANKINGS IT WOULD BE EASIER IF THE NAME BOXES WERE SHADED ACCORDING TO MARKET GROUP? I SUGGEST MEDIUM RARE FOR MEATS (RED),BROWN FOR GRAINS, GREEN FOR CURRENCIES ETC. THANKS FOR BEING HERE FOR US TONIGHT AND ALWAYS!

at 8:02:45 PM
Good idea, Mikarte, but wouldn't those colors get mixed up when you sorted the name column alphabetically? Think about it . . . .
EricInJapan, Himeji Japan asks:
I just looked at the TOVI tour... is it really that easy!?! WOW! Why have I waited so long to subscribe!!!??? :)

at 8:03:14 PM
That's what I was wondering, Eric . . . . (Yes it is!)
Kevin - London asks:
Hi Ken, Do you have any TOVI workshops planned?

at 8:03:22 PM
Stay tuned . . . .
YellowstoneMorning asks:
Rod from Fort Wayne IN - A few chats ago you asked about Celebration, Florida. Tonight my mother-in-law called from downtown Celebration. It is a neat little Disney town and every evening in December it snows in Celebration (soap foam). Even the Super Bowl Champs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, stayed in the Town Hotel for their pre-season camp. They also worked out at Disneys Wide World of Sports. Anyway, you mentioned in previous chats that you were short Oct Feeders from 90 and prices where still rising but Tovi says we still have 33 months to go. What gives?

at 8:06:15 PM
Like TOVI, I'm looking at Feeder long-term, YellowstoneMorning. (By the way, thanks for all the MS CD's. Nikki gave me your package just today and I'm sending along a little note and gift. Watch your mailbox.)
bassboat in arkansas asks:
one more if you would- re:the oj question and others- if TOVI says that it will take 33mos-----WHY NOT STAY OUT OF OJ FOR 30 MOS AND THEN START SHOPPING CALLS!

at 8:07:55 PM
That's true, bassboat, UNLESS TOVI's LongTerm rankings turn GREEN. That's my cue to jump in. But the point is, TOVI kept me OUT of the market and didn't waste my time (and money) waiting. Good observation.
lavenbal asks:
hi ken, are there any technical indicators associated wiht tovi?

at 8:08:35 PM
TOVI's DNA is technical indicators!
ALLYN IN BHAMAL. asks:
DO YOU STILL BID HALF THE OPTIONS PRICE WITH TOVI?

at 8:09:23 PM
No, I stick with TOVI's listed premium price!
Goldpaninut asks:
I was wondering where we might view the last tovi chat at?

at 8:10:02 PM
Go to www.tovionline.com and click on "Chat" button in upper righthand corner. Thanks!
