Let's Talk Trading (tm) with Ken Roberts
from January 20, 2004

Return to archives page

As we begin this evening’s session, let me state the reason I conduct these monthly chats: to provide you the opportunity to ask questions and pick the brain of a successful, long-time, real-money trader. It’s not the highest and best use of our limited time here together for me to define basic terms and explain introductory principles taught in your Course materials. That’s what my Course Counselors are here for... Now is the time for you to use me to help you apply the basics you’re learning and to prepare you for what to expect once you’re out in the market itself (either paper trading or with real money). And if we have some fun along those lines, so much better. Alright... I’ve got a Cohiba Siglo III fired up, here’s our plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, the coffee’s poured, so let’s talk commodities! NOTE!!! When commenting on one of my Courses, please identify WHICH ONE. Also, when relating trading experiences and/or results, please give details: Futures contracts, options, options AND futures, etc. This helps others follow along and learn from your experience too.

danield asks:
what do you think of march eurodollar and what direction do you think it will break?

at 6:14:16 PM
Just take a look at Eurodollar's Weekly and Monthly charts, danield: ALL-time highs!!! Now, the only question is WHEN will it drop? That's where TOVI's Short-Term Rankings tool can help us. Right now, TOVI says Eurodollars are moderately UP, so this information can be used to stay out of Eurodollars until TOVI sees the down-move begin. Thanks!
Joe Schmoe asks:
How can US Charts help me with TOVI?

at 6:15:43 PM
I see it this way: Charts are the skeleton; TOVI is the muscles. They work synergistically. Great question. Thanks!
trader bob asks:
Ken I just got connected to TOVI.Wishi I had this five years ago.Wonderful stuff

at 6:16:30 PM
Yeah! But I'm sure glad we've got it now!
John from Sherman Oaks asks:
Hi Ken , John from Sherman Oaks, I’m starting to use Tovi and I think it's incredible, one question though. . . I’m monitoring a Sugar 8.00 call July 2005 ( Tovi gave it to me and its making money already). But according to my online US charts this option goes only to October 2004? I know Tovi is right does that mean that US Charts are not accurate? Thank you for all that you are doing and I’m still waiting for you to come to L.A.!

at 6:20:37 PM
Everything's OK, John. It's just that U.S. Charts only lists sugar options as far out as October 2004. That's being changed, improved, and upgraded as we speak this evening. Real soon now, U.S. Charts will list ALL options (just as TOVI does). Just returned from So. Calif. on an 8-day stay at the Disney Resort, but didn't do any seminars while we were there (just rides, Club 33, Fantasmic, Napa Rose Restaurant, etc.). Stay tuned though . . . . Thanks!
DAVE FROM OHIO asks:
DAVE FROM OHIO....ITS GREAT TO SEE HOW TOVI'S ENTRY SIGNALS HAVE BEEN RIGHT ON PRIOR TO CHART FORMATION BREAKOUTS IN CORN,OATS AND COFFEE! QUESTION:IN YOUR OPINION, SHOULD ONE USE THE DTCP FOR AN INITIAL STOP IN FUTURES TRADING ? THANKS DAVE

at 6:22:38 PM
I'd try to keep my exit point closer to current prices than the Dynamic Trend Change Point, Dave, since it's typically quite a way's away from current prices. Good question. Thanks.
BackintheSaddle asks:
Ken - I have been away from trading for a number of years and see there is something new - TOVI. It sounds great but seems a bit to mechanical. Once word spreads about this new system won't everyone be performing the same trades. Now the "contrarian" view will be opposite TOVI and the world will be turned upside down! Is this possible? BackintheSaddle Niagara Falls, NY

at 6:25:16 PM
I wish it were, BITS, but, no, this won't happen. Our minds always ask that: "What if everyone does this . . . ." and that never ever happens (never even comes close)!
cduda asks:
Ken, I use paper charts for my charting. The weekly charts range in years from 3-7 years depending on the source. What is a good number of years to have on a weekly chart?

at 6:26:21 PM
I'm used to having 5 years (which is U.S. Charts' format), but as long as you have access to a market's Monthly chart, it's really just a matter of personal preference.
Charlie asks:
Has May Orange Juice futures contracts reached a double bottom recently and is it time to place order about 68?

at 6:28:59 PM
Yes, Charlie, that's a double bottom (and a form of 1-2-3 bottom) in Daily O.J. I like your plan to go long when a breakout over the #2 point occurs (which TOVI's Short-Term Rankings can confirm). Right now, TOVI says OJ is in a strong downtrend, so it's unlikely you'll soon see a rally over 68. If I were short OJ now, I'd stay short based on TOVI's analysis. Great question.
m fralic asks:
What do you think of March US Dollar Index and what direction will it break?

at 6:31:22 PM
Well, to answer that, let me turn to TOVI: Short-Term, TOVI rates the U.S. Dollar as being in a strong downtrend, so I don't expect a turnaround soon. Thanks, m fralic!
hawaiianson asks:
Aloha (again) Ken! What's your thoughts of OJ? And, short or long term? From the charts I feel it's about time for a move upwards. I have 5 Call Options @ 100 and 1 Call Option @ 65 (in the money!) for May and 1 for Call Option @ 75 for July. Good or bad move? Mahalo!

at 6:33:03 PM
If you see a rally in OJ to 71.90, that would signal a change in trend from down to up (according to TOVI), hawaiianson. Aloha!
helen asks:
I tried to view tovi (tour) but your voice kept breaking up. how can i be sure this wont happen if i suscribe to tovi? think it looks great, helen

at 6:35:57 PM
Sorry, I was hoarse that day, helen! Just kidding. You probably have a dial-up (phone) modem in which case ask a Course Counselor for a CD-ROM of the Tovi Tour. The TOVI website operates differently from the TOVI Tour, so we can't compare technologies. You're going to love TOVI! Thanks.
jecody asks:
what do you think of april natural gas will the cold weather help it advance.

at 6:36:48 PM
That's a fundamental question, jecody, and I don't even think in fundamentals---they're fundamenetally flawed!
Knute asks:
Hi Ken: A follow-up to Joe Schmoe's question - would the charts tell us "If" to act and TOVI "When" to act? Knute

at 6:38:41 PM
I think that would be one way to put it, Knute, but I'm getting a headache thinking about it!
Nova Scotia Scott asks:
Hi Ken, Crew, and fellow students, I've had good success trading the "ACTT" way, but have had trouble hanging on during pull backs [IS this a reversal or a pullback?]. After using TOVI for a week, I believe it will be a big help in that regard...if the trend is strong hang on:o)!! What do you think? Thanks Scott

at 6:39:56 PM
Yes, absolutely, I agree! Isn't TOVI great?! This was one reason why we added the Dynamic Trend Change Point too.
Kristos in birmingham England asks:
Hey Ken whats your first target point to take some profit outa coffee, mines bout 90 the weekly 50% . Also outa curiosity how many coffee futures are u holding, and finally are you still short euroyen, i was but got out, fed up of waiting. but still keepin an eye on it.Love these chats Ken, nuff respect.

at 6:45:21 PM
Thanks, Kristos, and cheers! I'm using the high on my Weekly chart (about 145) and then the Monthly 50% of approx. 180. How many futures contracts can you fit into a VW Bug? Your comment about the Euroyen is just one of the many reasons I love TOVI so --- you don't have to get in and wait, wait, wait. Now I can wait on the sidelines until TOVI spots a change in trend! Ah, the beauty of technology . . . . I LOVE computers!
ready2win asks:
Hi Ken: I am a GAB Member and a new TOVI Subscriber. Thank you for these chats and for TOVI. They are great! When researching brokers, what would be a range that would be acceptable commission to pay for a round turn? Also, reviewing the charts and TOVI, and reading the chats, is there other materials I need to be utilizing to get the maximum information and knowledge? Thanks again.

at 6:46:31 PM
Just paper trading now, ready2win, that's your best education.
danield asks:
do you trade mini contracts

at 6:46:56 PM
No, but that doesn't mean they're "bad."
Are you watching The Apprentice? I never watched a reality series, but this one's GREAT. Even if you don't care for Donald Trump, this is a show filled with great business insight and wisdom. What a study in humans! Can't believe I'm saying this, but I recommend that you watch it. (NBC Wednesday evenings.)
Howard asks:
How do you get decent fills in thinly traded markets like Rice, Lumber, etc? Or is it best to stick with high volume markets?

at 6:49:46 PM
No, don't rule these markets out, Howard. But DO use limit orders (and this is where a good broker earns his/her commissions).
bill from Bradenton asks:
When TOVI's short term ranking changes from moderate to strong, what is the maximum number of days in that status before one should consider the information too old. You state the ideal is one day. We just got into TOVI it is the GREATEST. Thank You!

at 6:53:01 PM
Since TOVI isn't a trading SYSTEM, bill, there's no one correct answer to your question. Try SEVERAL strategies. My instinct from using TOVI awhile now is that even the first few days from changing from moderate to strong would be OK. Open up a paper trading portfolio and test away!
sarah penn asks:
will silver "go for the ride" the way gold has (even tho' it did just made a slight down turn)?

at 6:54:41 PM
TOVI rates Silver short-term as a strong uptrend and that's good enough for me! Hang on and enjoy the ride! Thanks sarah!
Dave asks:
Hello Ken As per your Friday E-Mail Program "Update-Ken Roberts Paper Trading Plan" are your choices made with "TOVI" recommendations or are they choices made using your "GAB" stratigies?

at 6:56:29 PM
That's based on GAB principles, Dave. This Friday, TOVI's weekly E-mail updates begin.
NOTE: For those of you who aren't familiar with TOVI, TOVI's web address is www.tovionline.com.
richman asks:
Hi Ken, in addition to my real $ trades I've been paper trading the trading strategies in TOVI. Between the monotoring portfolio in TOVI and the trade tracker in US charts I'm in about 14 additional markets on paper. I would suggest to everyone to review the long and short term strategies in TOVI and paper trade and paper trade! It makes it very easy. thks!

at 6:58:09 PM
You said it better than I could, richman! Great advice. Thanks!
Rob from ND asks:
Hi Ken. My question is about margin calls. Let's say that during the trading day commodity "X" goes significantly in the opposite direction of my position (more than I have in my trading account) but comes back and closes in the positive. Would I get a margin call? By the way I am having FANTASTIC results paper trading with TOVI! I am greatly encouraged by what other people say on these chats. I truly wish the best for all of you!

at 6:59:18 PM
No, you would not get a dreaded margin call. Those are based on close-of-day figures. Thank you, Rob. Appreciate the kind words.
roger asks:
would you trade the live cattle market now or stay on the sidelines?

at 7:01:29 PM
TOVI's Short-Term ratings of Live Cattle went from "Extreme" to "Moderate" down. So if you wanted to trade a TOVI strategy, I'd start monitoring it now. Hope this helps.
Jim77 asks:
Good evening from Massachusetts. Seems May coffee broke out of its 123 bottom. Is this the year coffee finally takes off? I'm long May coffee just above its #2 point.

at 7:03:59 PM
My too, Jim77, I sure hope this is the year.
anaitis asks:
Hello Ken, Am using TOVI to trade futures contract and have had my best month so far . Thank you for all your help. Quick question, am not sure as to what is the best way to use TOVI for options? I have always been shopping for CHEAP options (TWMPMM 2) but looking at TOVI and doing an option search, the ones with a high value factor are very expensive. Is it still OK to look for cheap options with a lower value factor but that go as far out as possible in time? Does that sound like one of the right way/strategy to use TOVI? Thank you for your input.

at 7:07:58 PM
Sure, anaitis, give it a try. Before TOVI, I had no way of judging any option's true value. What a plate of spaghetti that was! So I bought cheap, far-out options just to be sure I had a foothold in that market. Even if it took round after round to stay in, I did it. Now that TOVI rates and ranks any option's true value, I'm "targeting" my position in the market rather than "shotgunning" as before. So what does "very expensive" mean really? It was expensive buying cheap options over and over and over again . . . . Great question. Thanks!
Rob from ND asks:
Hi Ken. I heard you mention on your last TOVI chat that you were working on incorporating selling options and trading spreads into TOVI in the future. Is this true? If so about how long before we might see something like this? I absolutely love everything you have taught me. Thank you and everyone who participates in these chats! They have been very uplifting!

at 7:09:15 PM
Yes, it's true. Sooner than you think, Rob. TOVI isn't as slow-going as most other computer/website projects seem to be (thank Goodness!).
Holapaloola asks:
How do 1-2-3s and Tovi relate to one another? Can I get in the market first by analyzing 1-2-3 or should I just let Tovi tell me when to enter? Does Tovi see a bottom? Thanks again.

at 7:11:44 PM
TOVI can confirm 1-2-3s, Holapaloola. TOVI doesn't "think" in terms of tops and bottoms; TOVI identified TRENDS. So you may be watching for a 1-2-3 bottom you develop in a market, but keep an eye on TOVI as you do and let TOVI confirm that new change in trend BEFORE you enter the market.
needhelp asks:
Does TOVI lessen the need for other courses such as your "Tools of the Trade" videos?

at 7:13:19 PM
I LOVE Tools of the Trade videos, needhelp. You don't NEED them, but I think they're so rewarding and insightful. Kind of like, you really don't NEED these chats, but don't you find them fun, fulfilling, and useful? (Me too . . . .)
peter asks:
ke, thanks!! TOVI has already paid me for 50 years of subscriptions! are you buying calls/puts if the time frames look to be over 15 mths for targets if both long and short term agree? also, for example eurodollars, are you buying puts before the short term trend changes to get maybe better prices?

at 7:15:56 PM
Yes, I trade them, Peter. (And TOVI can even budget your money to last this long if necessary!). No, I've learned (in a very short period of time with TOVI) to forgo that "beat the crowd" thinking.
joey asks:
which is better for a bang for a buck. futures or options.joseph

at 7:17:02 PM
I know of no definitive answer to this, Joey. Sometimes, options pay off EVEN MORE than a futures contract because of volatility and time value. But you never know when this will happen. Good question.
capta1n asks:
I bought Jan 04 Feeder puts back in Oct. I had two opportunities to more than double my investment but wasnt paying attention. Christmas Eve was a different story. I made $15,000 off a $1,000 investment. Lucky but thats ok. Mad cow nuts. Anyway, beef has been strong what is your take? I am looking short again. Cheers from Colorado.

at 7:19:27 PM
If I were you, capta1n, I'd sit on the sidelines of Feeder Cattle with all those profits right now and see how the market shapes up.
treepartner asks:
Hi, Ken: Glad you're back. Thanks for your input for our trip to Maui. Treepartner

at 7:21:05 PM
You're welcome, treepartner! Wait'll you see that magnificent, glorious Banyon tree in Lahaina. You and Debbie HAVE to just sit, rest, and take it all in sitting beneath that mighty tree! Aloha!
nicole asks:
Hi Ken, We really look forward to your chat room classroom. I hate to ask this question but I must. I have been paper trading for three months now and am having a few losses as well as a few gains but my nagging question is still all about put options as well as going short. I understand the basic idea but still feel that I do not understand enough to trade successfuly. Your staff has been very patient with my constant questions,do you have any other advice to help me get it? Or maybe I am just hopeless and to thick headed!!! thanks, nic from Ohio

at 7:25:23 PM
Yes, I think you're just thick headed, Nicole ---- just kidding. It took us all awhile to "get it" (even though some macho traders won't admit it). Don't over-think it. Try this: You sell something to someone TODAY that you don't have to deliver until next year (even though you don't own it yet). Before next year, the price drops and you then buy what you're committed to deliver. There: You sold something for more than you had to pay for it. Hope this helps.
nysetti asks:
since i cannot risk more than $1000 i get kicked out of any market i am trading long before it reaches the 50%. i remeber you saying that only petty traders take small profits. how do i take any profit? thanks

at 7:26:11 PM
Try paper trading options, nysetti.
Caribbean Doc asks:
Caribbean Doc. On Dec 23rd my feeder cattle puts were worth $37.50 and on Dec 24th they were valued at $3250......Wow.....

at 7:26:40 PM
Who said "Where's the beef?" Doc?!
WDD asks:
Hi, Ken -- Wilfred in Salem, Ma. You were in Disneyland? Neat! I lived in Anaheim a 25-minute walk from there. I'm writing to recommend that the price quotes in the twice-weekly phone messages be available in printable form on your web site. Course members (TWMPM I, etc.) could enter their subscription code just like with the touch-tone phone. Printing this can take drudgery out of writing the stuff down so we can FOCUS on what's happening in the chart patterns, and plan our trades. (Also saves subscribers toll call costs.) PLEASE consider it.

at 7:28:05 PM
WDD, where have you been? This has been available for many, many months now on the KRC website. Call a Course Counselor if you need help. Thanks!
ken asks:
Hi ken, ken from beautiful B.C Today I cashed out of 2 march coffee contracts for a profit of 2500.00 not bad considering I was only in for 2 days. TOVI and I agreed.I am using TOVI to help build my account and so far so good.It is a great tool to have.

at 7:28:37 PM
I'll say! Great going, ken!
DM HydroPower asks:
I saw the Apprentice for the first time last week and I agree! As long as I can get past Trump's bad salad (hair), the rest is all good! Why can't we all just go with the flow?

at 7:29:29 PM
! Yes, my wife Krista says Trump's female assistant's hair looks like the female version of Donald's hairstyle!
east asks:
Hi Ken, Swan Lake here. Love the Chats!! Any plans to add foreign markets to TOVI?

at 7:30:01 PM
That's on the list, too, Swan Lake! Stay tuned . . . .
Wilfbort asks:
TOVI has impressed me. Initially I was frustrated, especially when the markets moved against TOVI's trend rankings, but TOVI maintained its position...and proved its value over the long run. It really does eliminate the emotional pitfalls of trading, which cost me a few times, so I'm very confident in it...great work Ken.

at 7:31:04 PM
Thanks Wilfbort! You're lucky: Emotional pitfalls cost me MORE than just a few times . . . .
nickdogs asks:
How long should you paper trade for? If your looking at options 8 months to a year and your watching these particular markets, you could be paper trading for a year or more.

at 7:32:34 PM
No, nickdogs, the market can move way before the option expires (in fact, that's the goal). But here's my rule of thumb for determining how long you should paper trade: When you find yourself saying "I'm tired of being right and not making any money on it" a lot, then you can consider trading real money.
Jonnell asks:
Hi Ken! I have March '04 Eurodollar puts @ 9825, 9800, 9775 and 9750 I purchased in June '03 when the index was at 9888 at 10 points or less each. I sold half of them in Aug when the market hit 9840 I know that I have about 60 days to go before expiration on the rest and I have noticed that corresponding Sept 04 puts are in the same price rangess as the old ones. I'm buying Sep 04 now with the profits and pricing Mar 05 for my next move. Thanx for the approach, I'm actually making money!

at 7:33:23 PM
Good goin'!
DM HydroPower asks:
Hold on a sec pardner, weekly email updates for TOVI? Why wasn't I informed?!

at 7:35:52 PM
See?! I ALWAYS give more than you expect, DM. That's my style, pardner . . . .
Mark in Tennessee asks:
Evening Ken, I was short Soybeans the day that mad cow news hit, and I lost a quick thousand dollars. But, it was money from my PROFITS from previous trades (thanks to your courses). Should I just wait this out, for a more defined 1,2,3? It seems to be in a pretty strong uptrend, but what goes up.....your thoughts??

at 7:37:21 PM
TOVI rates Beans as being in a strong uptrend now, Mark, so I think I'd bail . . . .
asks:
Hi Ken, Bruce from Tampa here. I've Taken TWMPMM I&II and now TOVI.I guess you could call me a Tovite. It was Dec.31 and Live Cattle had just tanked and I was holding 2 Feb.68 Live Cattle puts. I had called my Broker and he said that It wasn't a good day to liquidate. Big mistake on that day my options had almost trippled.By Jan.2 the market had all ready start to turn around and so did my options.I was so focused on the market hitting my strike price that didn't even see that it had already hit my daily target and my weekly target.I felt so stupid. Tovi says this market is still in a down trend do you think it still might have a few good puffs? Speaking of puffs I work for a well known cigar factory here in Tampa. What is you favorite cigar? Ken , I'm determined to be a full time Trader are there people really making a living trading? I'm sticking with you guys for the long term.I love Tovi I even made my own tutorial manual.Thank you for your time. Best Regard to all,Bruce from Tamp

at 7:44:28 PM
Thanks Bruce! You learned VALUABLE lessons here (trust your charts, ignore your broker, etc., etc.). TOVI still rates Live Cattle as being a moderate downtrend short-term (with a "down" bias Long-Term). I have several favorite cigars (mostly Cuban), but if you can get ahold of any Fuente Opus Xs . . . .
Nova Scotia Scott asks:
TOVI weekly email updates? DO we have to do anything to start receiving? thanks scott

at 7:44:58 PM
If you're a TOVI subscriber you'll automatically receive these.
Nova Scotia Scott asks:
Oh Yeah, Paper trading using monitoring portfolio in TOVI and made $1,486 in a week on $9,100 invested or 16.3% in a week and I suck at option:o)

at 7:45:14 PM
!
Drew in Atlanta asks:
Good evening Ken and Fellow Traders, I have a question about the coffee market. It seems that the front month price has risen above the daily 50% point from a 1-2-3 bottom. The weekly channel shows that coffee was trading in a channel between approx 73.50 and 56.15 until today when it broke above the the top of the channel and hit 74.80. Based on this analysis, should we be expecting a pullback or correction from the daily 50% or should we be expecting the market to continue possibly to the weekly 50% and beyond? Also, has TOVI generated a BUY for coffee, yet? Thanks a zillion for all that you and the course counselors do for all of us! Last year, trading paid for my fiance's engagement ring and this year, it will pay for our wedding & honeymoon!

at 7:48:05 PM
Great going, Drew. Happy wedding! You're asking me crystal-ball questions, but I can tell that TOVI rates coffee Long-Term as UP and short-Term as being in a strong uptrend. I couldn't ask for more than that!
Mark in Tennessee asks:
Good Evening Ken, Thanks for doing these chats. Did I read it right? Tovi says Orange Juice is going FURTHER down? It's at a 20+ year low now. What's the best way to capitalize on this opportunity? (I don't want to end up with the pits)

at 7:50:19 PM
Oranges don't have pits, Mark! (That would be prunes . . . .) TOVI says OJ's in a strong downtrend!
EricInHimejiJapan asks:
WOW. Each passing day garners greater appreciation of TOVI. Just now I checked the 24 or so markets I am watching (mostly paper trading until my budget allows more positions) by looking at my U.S.Charts Online to check if my targets were hit. If the market made a slight move "against me", I checked TOVI to see if the strength ranking was still strong. All of this in about 10 minutes. Even while checking this chat! WOW! What a great business.

at 7:52:41 PM
You're saying it better than I could, Eric! Tell me, is it really THAT expensive to live in Japan ($80 steaks, $20 oranges, etc.). I just don't know how people could live like that (if it's true) . . . .
Trips22 asks:
Hi Ken qnd the gang, I have been trading following Tovi for last two months and so far I have made over $6000 in profits. I have had two trades so far when I entered a market 1 day after Mod to Strong trend. But the next day trend changed to downtrend and several days of neutral. How do you deal with this? Should we exit the trade when it trends down? Or should we hang in and wait for the trend to turn in strong up direction. Thankfully only two such markets with minimal losses. Thanks for all your help.

at 7:54:41 PM
Thanks for the update, Trips22. I can think of two ways to deal with this: 1) Exit with your minor losses when TOVI's rating changes to neutral, or 2) Check your chart and if support hasn't been broken, hang in there on the trade. Hope this helps . . . .
Mark in Tennessee asks:
Ken, Congrats on your coffee finally moving. You've been saying it was going to happen for about 4 or 5 chats now! Same concept, different commodity - my question - Is now the time to start pricing Orange Juice Call Options, or is it too late? Took the Tovi Tour, it's great! Nice narration, whoever did it.

at 7:55:44 PM
Yes, wasn't that narrator fantastic?! He should be in movies . . . . Anyway, TOVI rates OJ as being in a strong downtrend, so I'd wait to get long. Thanks!
ARDENMIKE asks:
Ken , thanks a billion for TOVI. I have doubled my account in less than 2 months!!!My question is , when you give exit strategies for options , why don't you use the changes in the long or short term tovi ratings or the change to red in the option decay?

at 7:57:43 PM
Try it, Ardenmike, but I think you'll find that using chart points to exit will get you out SOONER than a change in TOVI's ratings. This could minimize your loss or help protect profits. Great question.
Mark in Tennessee asks:
Evening Ken, It's tax time again. A friend of mine said that I can claim/write off all expenses for my Commodity Investing for the year. Courses, charts, even TOVI! Does this sound right to you?

at 7:59:18 PM
Check with your tax expert, Mark, but it depends upon your designation: Commodity Investor versus commodity Trader . . . . Better yet, go to www.salestax.org, send them a donation, and let's get rid of this ridiculous tax scam the government's got going. Abolish the IRS!!!!!
fran da man asks:
Ken I know with tovi the moderate to strong trend is a good time to get in but how about a extreme to strong trend?

at 8:01:38 PM
Extreme to strong would be a LOSS in momentum, fran, so I wouldn't want to do that. If you mean Strong to Extreme, test it out (I have no hard data on this, but someone here in the office is paper trading that very system and likes what he's seeing so far. Give it a try.)
Nova Scotia Scott asks:
Another follow up to Joe Schmoe, My method is this...Use my charts to tell me when and if I get in and TOVI will manage the exit/stops/targets [the hardest part of trading IMO]. Getting in is easy, making and keeping profits is the hard part!

at 8:02:58 PM
Go for it, Nova Scotia! Just shows you the difference in people: I think getting in is the hardest part . . . . (but TOVI serves ALL of us!)
Tre-Tre from Toronto, Ontario Canada asks:
Ken have you ever thought of having a course on the money managment aspect of trading? thanks.

at 8:03:40 PM
GAB and TOVI both address this issue, Tre-Tre. Thanks.
Holapaloola asks:
Hey Ken. Hola here again from Sask. Canada. Never thought I'd here you say those words...I love computers! When was the exact moment your opinion changed or was it just a progression? Thanks.

I was sitting under a tree and an apple (the computer, not the fruit) fell on my head . . . . Actually, I think it was a dawning rather than a "lights-on" process.

shango asks:
Hi again Ken. How do you deal with a market that TOVI ranked strong, the it goes to xtrm and then back to strong again over a period of time. is it wise to get in again when it goes to strong?

at 8:06:16 PM
I stay in during those changes, shango. But paper trade a method you're comfortable with and stick with that. Thanks.

Hello Ken, My Philadelphia Eagles lost again and my trading is suffering. I made a few mistakes shorting the Cattle this past summer and the March Canadian Dollar this Dec. In both cases I was making money and then the positions moved against me. I had no stops because everytime I place a stop I get bounced out of the trade. My margin is very low and all I can do is trade the mini grains or buy options. I never had any profits with options. Any words of advice for a futures trader in the cradle of liberty? Thanks Rudy

Yes, Rudy, give options another chance. Sign up for the FREE 2-week TOVI trial. Trust me . . . .

Tymo from Colorado; Hi Ken, just wanted to say I really like the idea of subscribing to TOVI on a month to month basis. For us with limited funds, this is a real godsend. Now all I have to do is sign up. Thanks Ken for all you do.
